Complete Hospice Care utilizes volunteers to sit with patients to give caregivers respite and to help with housekeeping, home maintenance, and/or yard work. These volunteers provide assistance in direct care services or assist patients and families by providing companionship and emotional support. The volunteer must be a good listener, sympathetic, and compassionate. Volunteers must complete a hospice training program and paperwork, including confidentiality statement and background check.
These volunteers assist in the office of the hospice, helping with special projects, mailings, general clerical support, answering phones and reception desk duties. Someone interested in this volunteer position must sign a confidentiality statement and attend the training program.
Nursing Home Volunteer
Nursing home patients requesting volunteer companionship are looking for someone to share their time with conversation, playing games, reading, and more. You may be visiting 1-3 patients in the same facility, if possible. These volunteers may also help with events that the hospice sponsors at different nursing homes. These volunteers must also pass a background check, sign a confidentiality statement, and go through hospice training.
Life's Journey Writer/Videographer
These volunteers will spend time with patients and journal their life story with the help of our starter questions. This is a wonderful gift for the family of our patients to hear stories that they have never heard before or ones they may have forgotten. These volunteers must attend training, have a background check, training on equipment (video only), and sign a confidentiality statement.
Photographers do not need to be professional just have to love taking photos of people. We use your talents to take pictures of our patients and their families and then use these portraits as part of a special gift. Training, background check, and confidentiality agreement are required.
All Training provided by Complete Hospice Care and is free of charge.
